Reading in the beginning of Moroni, I came across this scripture: "The manner which the disciples, who were called the elders of the church, ordained priests and teachers— 2 After they had prayed unto the Father in the name of Christ, they laid their hands upon them..."
It struck me because today in the church we have very well established guidelines for ordinances, ordinations, and so forth, but here it mentions after they had prayed...they laid their hands upon them. Obviously, they then perform the ordinance, but it made me wonder how many times I've thought to pray before giving a blessing or performing an ordinance of some sort. It seems obvious, when you think about it. But there it is. God truly wants us to be praying at all times.
